Zen and Motorcycle maintenance- 1st half of book was great, nice story, I also love old airheads. I just can not get (or didnt read well enough) all the quality musings to get anything out of it. I've read the whole book 3 times and will hit it again in the next year. I think there is good stuff in there, but I cant find it.

Manufacturing quality- I am close to a BS in Mechanical engineering technology and have a job in the QA office of an ISO9000/ASxxxx ( I forget the number) aircraft parts supplier. Yeah our QA shop is busy, and I see lots of stuff getting done the wrong way, but even if we were perfect, the higher cost to produce goods in the US will consistently make foriegn-made parts cheaper...or at least make them **look** cheaper (this issue has been well debated in the past). Get that past your legacy-driven management =)
