Recently I noticed my 80 300SD does not have a rack dampner bolt. The back plate doesn't have the boss for it. All my other turbo diesels have the bolt.

I suppose it could have been changed out with a back plate from a non turbo?

I don't have a non turbo to compare.

Anyone have any ideas?

The car sometimes shakes at idle, but I don't think I want to pull the oil filter housing and or the pump to replace it.
