I have a complete E420 brake uprgade kit for sale that will bolt up to a standard W201. The 4-piston calipers have been painted red with G2 two-part epoxy/paint, new OE dealer rotors, Textar yellow-box pads. Never installed. I haven't advertised it yet, just hadn't had time... this should cure your fade problem though!
The stock 190E brakes are pretty small. The 16v are bigger, they have 284x22 up front with a single-piston floating caliper; the E420 fronts are 294x25 with a 4-piston fixed caliper. The 16v rears are 258x9 solid, the E420 rears are 274x24 vented.
I am NOT sure if the E420 brakes will bolt up to the 190E-16 or not, it depends on the clearnace between the rear of the rotor and the lower control arm ball-joint support. It fits non-16v models perfectly.
