I remember visiting "Wood Henge" in England about six years ago. It's a circle of wooden posts perfectly preserved in the peat moss on the beach on one of the northern shores. In the middle is an upside down tree trunk. The circle is said to pre-date Stone Henge.

I saw it shortly after it was discovered, but after someone had carved a huge pie shaped piece out of the tree trunk. Truely sad.

The site has since been dug up so no more vandalizm could occur. I'm glad I was fortunate to see it as it was many many years ago.
