My experience with injectors is that if they have more than 100K on them they are less than optimal. Granted my experience is with my diesel Jetta and Chevy truck, but changing them out to a fresh set of rebuilds made a huge difference. The engine will sound much crisper, idle better and produce more power and less smoke. Injector wear is something that happens slowly so you don't really notice the difference. I highly recommend having any injectors checked at a local pump shop to make sure they are balanced, don't leak, etc. BTW, the injectors in the VW and Chevy are Bosch and look exactly like the MB units.
