If it's a $2000 to put the front end back in shape, it's money well spent. I would not recommend this to be your first attempt at suspension work. The job requires uncommon though not necessarily special tools. Things like a come along to deflect the lower control arm so you can fit the guide rod and a press to remove and fit bushings. Oops, you need a special spring compressor to do the job safely.
