I'm confused. Are we talking about the egr tube that snakes behind the engine and enters the intake system near the throttle? I'm confused because mine is made of steel.

I cleaned it really well when I had the head off and it was real easy to get at. There's a lot of bends in it. I measured roughly 38" of tube length. The crud is mainly concentrated at the first few inches where it connects at the intake.
