My indy shop wants $120 to r/r the aux fans on my 300TE.
Is this worth it?
How much disassembly must I do to get to both fans?
Having just put euro 500E Hella's on my 300TE, I can attest to just one really big pain replacing the headlight assemblies... the passenger side inside bolt is almost impossible to reach.
The bolt that goes into the side of the passenger side aux fan looks equally tough to get at.
It is one of those jobs that I would gladly buy a special tool (what kind of tool?) to get that 8 mm nut back on the inside of that headlight assembly.
Using my fingers and the stock MB wrench, it took me hours to get that one bolt in.
The rest of the job wasn't too bad, a few hours tops.
