I wouldn't restore a '79 Toyota. I was actually trying to get around the smog laws here in CA and build a roll cage all in one shot. It ended up being a big project as you can see. The original frame went in the trash along with most of the truck, and that frame in the pix was made from scratch and only weighs 110lbs. I added the wiring as I needed it. I still never got around to putting a horn, wipers, or stereo in it since I have no need for them.
