I went through a lot of grief with this oil recently. The oil is sort of like an accelerator pump. So I thought: the more fuel the better right? I used 20w50 in it for a long time and my fuel mileage was horrendous. I never made the relationship to the damper oil but my driving was mostly done in start/stop city traffic which really magnified this problem. I switched back to ATF as recommended in the manual and everything came back to normal.
