Thanks. I will look into the Trisco scanner in more detail. It seem to solve the tool-problem for a reasonable amount of money.

But, still, I would very much like to know more details about how the 38-pin connector works for my car (1998 CLK 320). If I know that, I may be able to do my own diagnostic scanner PC-program.

Anybody that can shed any light over this ?
