"yella-dog Democrat" is not name-calling in my opinion. Rather, its a prudent, viable political philosophy succinctly self-describing for more than a few Democrats I know.

My in-laws, for example. Good, decent, honest, conservative, God-fearing Christians are yella-dog Democrats.
