The temp sensor cable is made into the body wiring harness on a 140 chassis car. The sensor is mounted to the tow hook cover on the left side of the front bumper, from there it goes up beside the a/c drier area and then into the main wiring harness all the way to the back of the instrument cluster. You have two choices for repair, you can either cut the old sensor end off and solder and heat shrink the new sensor on, or you can route the new sensor cable into the cluster. I have done it both ways and attaching the new sensor probe to the old cable is by far much easier than routing the cable into the car. Just cut and splice the cable a foot or so from the sensor probe end and use solder and heat shrink tubing for a good repair. I have done several this way with no problems at all.
