Remove the ashtray, remove the 2 screws at the base of the ashtray cubby, remove the radio (use puller tools or reach from behind and push out), remove 2 screws on top edge of radio cubby, pull out wood panel with ACC controls and row of switches, remove two 14-pin connectors into ACC controls, remove 2 screws holding ACC controls to wood panel.

So to answer the original question, the wood doesn't come off the dash, everything comes off the wood.
