Last night while towing my boat and almost home, had to stop on the freeway for construction work, as I press the pedal to start again, the engine revs up but the Chevy Suburban ****** shiiiiit, doesn't move. Police shows up stops the trafiic and I roll back into the side of the road. Disconnect the towed boat and wait for the tow truck.

As we waited for the tow truck, after shutting the motor off, went to try it again after a few minutes and I was able to limp home and return later to pick up the boat.

What could it be, the fluid is full but the color is not the usual red.
