Voyager was a woman’s story. As such, it was a departure from the legacy. Later in the series, in the 7 of 9 era, the writing was really top notch. I'm working my way through the series a couple of shows a week. Haven't seen them for a couple of years. OTOH, I never fully liked DS9. Thought it was overly plodding (story lines, that is), but there were still a lot of really good episodes within.
