Clever analogies aside, history shows McCarthy was right on his premise regarding Communist and Communist sympathisers in the US Government and the general populace. By the way, it would not have been a "nonviolent replacement of government" if communism had won in the US. History shows that when the "fabric of society" was remade by the communists, it ripped up the weave. Look at Russia/USSR, Cambodia/Khymer Rouge, China, etc......
