In this particular model - '97 E420 - aux cooling fan activation is controlled by a pulse module (210 545 02 32), which is located in the engine compartment fuse box. Module function encompasses traction system, HCS, ATA and AAC. There is no frame rail-mounted aux cooling fan module for this vehicle.
