Thanks for the replies. I have done a search on cruise control, and most are having different cruise problems from mine.

Lubricating the throttle linkage is one of the steps that I am going to try on my car. I post this question is to find out what more to look for. My cruise control presently works all the time (I think this will rule out the cruise amp problem)

Ed C, how do you lube the throttle linkage?
