I am a current owner of a 86 190E 16V. While I have enjoyed driving it, I recently saw a 95/96 C36 AMG for sale for $9995. The price really got my attention. Car had 160k on it and was in average cosmetic condition. Had some cracked wood, OK paint, leather was good, worn tires.

I did not drive it. Before I put more time into looking at this car I was hoping I could get some opinion on this particular model. I did not find any related threads on this site, though I did learn that less than 500 of these made it to the US, all automatics. To me this means exclusivity and potentially more costly maintenance and parts. . .

This car would be a replacement for the 16V so any thoughts comparisons of either would also be appreciated.
