Although the chances of getting caught are extremely minor in a diesel car (as opposed to a pickup), the fines from getting caught once would buy a whole lot of taxed diesel.

I have always wondered what exactly the dye was they used and if it was possible to devise a scrubber to remove it from the diesel. Just idle curiosity...
