Dave - the Battery Tender will PREVENT sulphation but the Battery Minder REVERSED the sulphation in my battery. FYI - I called VDC before buying my unit and asked them what would happened if I was not satisfied - they told me they would refund my money no questions asked. Needless to say that won't be happening. The Battery Tender will do what you want - very nicely, the Battery Minder just has the plus of desulphation " on batteries that can be saved" I got lucky - I had the right battery that could be saved and am impressed
