Go back and re-read myarmar's post. Note that he was referring to the cable between engine and body, not the battery cable. Weird intermittant electrical glitches are often caused by faulty grounds.
The other thing worth doing is changing out all your fuses. You've already had one cracked one. Sometimes they "look good" but have hairline cracks, which cause absolutely unpredictable electrical glitches.
