In brief both clips get pushed inward or is it outward (not sure) just there own width to remove panel

Also be sure you attach the hook at the back of the black panel that is the top of the footwell and has the screws on the front.


When you take the mats out you can with no damage pull the carpeting toward the seat to expose the metal footbox

when the filter is out I like to wipe all the inners with a towel wetted with Lysol spray.
