three ailing mercs

1.You must replace the spheres to restore the ride. They are about $125 each.

2. the upper suspension arm, which also connects to the stabilizer bar, will have lost it's rubber bushings. They are easily replaceable with a floor jack, but be careful and support everything properly. If the upper ball joint is bad, you can get the whole arm with new ball joint and bushings.

3. Have you ever adjusted the ALDA? Their is a natural tendancy for the fuel curve to go lean on injected diesel engines. Adjusting the ALDA, or shimming it, will richen things up and much improve off-idle performance. You need to check in on the [email protected] list and/or due an archive search for ALDA.
