You have to disconnect the lines at the fenderwell before removing them from the caliper. Soak the crap out of them with PB Blaster before trying to loosen them. On reassembly the lines are attached to the caliper beofre making the connection at the fenderwell. Loosening the fittings requires two wrenches - one for the fitting and one to apply counter pressure at the junction blcok.

On my 4.5 the connections were clean and free of rust, so the fittings came loose easily.
