I was in the process of hunting down a clunking sound that has been bothering me for months (rear drivers side), when i noticed that the axle halfshaft coming to the wheel hub has about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of play in it (horizontal with the car, not front to back). Is this normal? If not what would cause this?
