Newbie from San Jose

Hi Guys,
I am a new guy, been lurking and finally found a car of my own this weekend. It's a 82 300D Turbo with 242K miles. After being on this list I know that I have the dreaded broken air cleaner bracket. After reading some of the post, it does not seem like a plesant job. Does anyone know that part numbers or names of the turbo oil tube gaskets I will need to change the bracket? Can I repair the bracket by welding it and reinforcing it? I notice that I have a sensor on the water manifold that looks like it is broken, no wires coming out of it. I will send a picture and hopefully some one can identify what it is. Also, I don't have any of the operating manuel that come with the car (the kind that goes in the glove compartment) does anyone have a extra set for my car? Lastly, I am located in San Jose, is anyone willing to look at my car and point out things that should be fixed and over all explain the car too me? I am a DIY but I really know nothing about diesels, other than the fact that I've always want a 300D. Thanks and I look forward to add something to this group.
