UPDATE: I have purchased a couple items over the last couple of months for my turbo project, which has grown into a monster of a project. Here are some pics of some of the custom parts I have made lately.
The turbo was assembled with parts I purchased. I did this to achieve a perfectly matched turbo for my application. The compressor housing is T04E 50 trim with a 57 trim Super Series Compressor Wheel, The turbine housing is a Turbonetics T3 0.63 Discharge, 3" V-band Discharge with Turbonteics Stage III Turbine. I am using a Tial 38mm external wastegate (Next to Turbo) instead of the internal T3 wastegate. I polished the compressor housing to prevent heatsoak. The turbine housing was ported and polished inside and out as well as Jet Hot aluminum ceramic coated to lower under hood temps.
Also pictured are my custom stainless steel valves, which I developed and had produced. These were designed to be lightweight and are able to take a lot of heat. They have better flow characteristics as well. I have the stock intake and exhaust valves pictured next to the customs for comparison. The valve stems on the exhaust side were decreased in size to 8MM. this helps to lighten the valve since I will no longer be running the stock sodium filled ones. Unfortunately I will have to make custom valve guides as well. You can also see that the valve stems are longer by the valve stem lock grove. I did this due to the new cam profile I had desinged to match the turbo. I have a lot of other components almost ready. Check back periodically over the next few months. I'm going to try to get this project done before spring 2005..
