Hi everybody

I have 1985 300D Turbo.

I am planning on replacing the front shocks with Bilsten HD type. Attached is the photo of one of the new Bilsten shocks (Part # B36-0704)

I have a question on this component: the 2" metal cylinder (located to the left of the rubber sleeve in the photo):
Do I need to use this component?
