Ah, but cude oil inventories are much lower than they were in the 1970s, and Hurrican Ivan held up quite a bit of oil delievery from oil drilling AND shipping in the Gulf -- remember, it's not possible to get a SuperTanker withing 100 miles of the coast in the US in all but one port (Bar Harbor, Maine, I seem to remember). They are all unloaded in the Gulf.

It's "watch the oil companies get filthy rich" time, boys. Welcome to the NeoRobber Baron age.

It's gonna get a LOT more painfull, and will never get better than it was a couple years ago.

I drove a 1962 Olds Dynamic 88 when I was 17, got 4-6 mpg, gas was $0.20 a gallon, and minumum wage was $1.25.
