ptmar, remove the fuel pump and check that the mating surfaces of the pump and the engine to ensure that no old gasket material remains. Clean the mating surfaces with an oil/grease remover and allow to dry. Then apply a thin coat of non-hardening Permatex to each side of a new gasket and reinstall. Torque the mounting bolts properly.
