Your best bet is to replace the entire harness, have you priced them?
i replaced one a few months back, i don't remember but i don't think they were that expensive. you will save a lot of headache if you do. if you want send me you vin and i will see what connectors are available from mercedes. when the sell connectors they usuall come with about 20 feet of additional wire, more than enough to replace damaged areas. send me an email with the vin if you want and i will check.
