How do I lubricate the motor bushings?

I was originally thinking a short in the fan motor. The fan motor has since been replaced w/ one from a junk-yard. I looked at the bruhes and they were better than the ones I had in my old one. The replacement motor had brushes that were at about 50%. My old motor had brushes that had gotten down to about 80% wear and I rebuilt them 2 years ago.

A few weeks ago I was at a friends house charging the freon and he mentioned to me that the compressor isn't all that it could be. He said it looked like it may be on the way out in the near future, but it doesn't need replaced right away. I still have a little more time on it.

As far as a short in the system somewhere, if this ever happens again I'm going to take it to an automotive electrical shop that my familly has used off & on for the last 20 years.

Thanks for the input
