for those reading old threads here is the diagnosis. It was not the B2 piston. I was finally able to remove the piston by compressing it in with a modified c clamp I made and then it then finally came out intact. So I am pronouncing her dead here at 12:40am. For the cost of a transmission replacement I am just going to have to get another car. For sale one 79 300sd parts car in great shape except for transmission. Want to buy 80-85 300sd. 2 hour radius of Chatt. TN. Thank everyone for their help. If I had it all to do over again I would have given the car a name on the first day. Cars with names never seem to die.
