That smell is coming from your catalytic converter...there are sulphur byproducts in the cat that assist in reducing the harmful emissions that emanate from your exhaust. And burning sulphur (as most of us recall from HS chemistry) smells like rotten eggs.

Typically, it's not supposed to smell like that. It seems to me that your cat is getting clogged or has used up the last of its nine lives...
