Okay, I have a 1984 300SD. Ever since I have owned it (5 years) the coolant temperature and fuel gauges have registered erratically. Usually a good thump on the top of the dash will get them to calm down however I'm getting strange looks from people when I do it. I've asked several times how to fix the problem and everybody says, "oh it's the ground connection. Just clean it, tighten it and it'll fix it up". The only problem I have is that no tells me where the blasted thing is!
Could some kind person out there help a poor school teacher avoid getting arrested for abusing my beautiful car?
