If the pistons don't move back smoothly with minimal pressure, rebuild the calipers. Pretty cheap, doesn't take long, and you need to change the brake fluid anyway.

I've "unstuck" pistons so that they appeared to work properly, but when taken out the piston seal wasn't square anymore....
