Hello

I just purchased a 1988 560SL. I need to replace the rear main seal. I also understand there is a repair kit available if the crank shaft is worn.

I would like to know if the special tools listed in the manual are essential or has anyone had any luck making something up. I would like to have everything ready before I pull the transmission.
