Alternators I will give you. The General likes to wedge in an alternator that gets too hot and burns up on a lot of cars. On the 3800, it has pretty good airflow, however.
I don't think we have ever had a problem with a GM starter in our family... wierd.
The interiors will look great years down the road if you take care of it - too many people treat them like throwaway cars and let their interior go to hell though.
