Ok guys/gals, I found a 300SD about 10 miles from me that's for sale and the guy doesn't know what to ask for it (wants me to make an offer) has 265,000 on it. It's silver, paint is bad but has no rust that I can see, TX car since new so I doubt there's any rust. Motor mounts are bad, front seat leather is cracked, has good sheepskin covers, leather on backseats is ok but pretty stiff, trunk seal is bad (water in trunk), dash is cracked but he has a new cover still in box. It started up ok when we tried it but I didn't drive it (raining). I'm going to guess the front end is going to need some work since he said it's never had any work done. It sat for 4 years and he said that the transmission didn't shift good (2-3) when he drove it a few weeks ago but it did shift. I didn't check the AC or locks but I figure if I decide to take it for a drive that's a good time to check all that. Engine and under hood area look pretty clean like it was cared for fairly well.

Any idea what a fair price for a car in this condition would be?

I finally got him to say that he was going to ask $3000 after he fixed the motor mounts...... I thought that would be a little high mainly because of the paint.
