If the sound is close to the glove box, it's the climate control switchover valve changing modes. Starts off in AC, full recirc if the sun has been on the car and the temp sensor is hot, then switches off the recirc, then the AC as the air in the car goes over the temp sensor and cools it off.
If it starts clicking continuously, it's time to fix the blower for the temp sensor.
