Tommy
You replaced the wrong part, I believe you replaced the purge valve, different part than what I discussed. It is somewhat related to the problem, but not to that particular code.
Fast Neutron, Tommy had already had his fuel cap replaced. You have to be sure the cap id good, and that it's tight and that the car wasn't driven with a loose cap or refuelled with the engine running (cap off).
I am trying to remember which side the canister is on a W202, it's in the rear wheelwell area, I think the LEFT on a 202, could be wrong. It's a "moderate" job, not easy as an oil change but way easier than.....a headgasket, does that help? Helps if you can prop up the car and remove the wheel. Need to remove the charcoal canister to get to it, and need some spare clamps for putting the hoses back on, right around 1" worm-gear clamps.

Canister Purge Control Valve
|
The charcoal canister SHUT OFF valve is what commonly causes this code. The purge valve itself (the part you replaced) commonly causes a code for "incorrect flow" in the purge system. Replaced LOTS of these purge valves too, but not for this evap LEAK code. Leaks codes are commonly caused by the charcoal canister shut-off valve (#1 reason), also bad fuel caps and charcoal canisters.
