Exclamation 1989 420 SELTiming - HELP!

I just replaced the timing chain and upper rails. The only problem is, The timing is way off. While trying to sneak on the new one,by clamping it onto the old one using the master link that came with the new chain, we allowed it to slip a few teeth or so. My mechanic said that wasn't good. How in the world do you time the cam shafts now? There are no visable marks on the sprockets. Are the keyways supposed to be lined up with anything when I remove the sprockets?

My SEL has been sitting the driveway of my mechanics home for nearly 3 weeks now. It was supposed to be a 3 hour tour, I feel like Gilligan!
