First, I'd check the owners manual to see what is says about time limits. (I know that the spark plugs have a mileage & time limit on replacements). Also, be sure you're using synthetic oil. Personnaly, I never wait for FSS to get to zero. The dealer would change it under warranty when FSS reached 2K, so I've stuck with that (usually about 8K miles.)
