Adam, I wish I could be in your shoes!

I'm also in the process of looking for an aftermarket ignition upgrade. I'm for Jacobs more than anything else (it's a prejudice thing), although I'm still keeping my options open.

However, I do have a BIG question here:does anyone know why Jacob's ignition systems require that we leave our stock coils in place for the purpose of triggering their secondary coil? I was told by their techs that this procedure applies to all Jacob's stuff. Anyone has any ideas? Or is it only applicable to my W126 (280SEL)?

Since Jacob's stuff do not come cheap (I was recommnded a system which includes plug wires, computer and coil, for US$517), I really need to do my homework well. Or does the $50-60 Accel Super Coil works equally well?

Thanks~
