Cruise Control 1997 SL500

On my first over-the-road trip after replacing a couple tires, my cruise control stopped working.

It is intermittant, seems like it will hold speed for a second or two and then disconnect.

In searching the archives, I found an owner of a C180 who had a similar problem was told that different tire sizes will cause this, but there is no resolution or verification in the files.

This seems absurd to this analog-minded owner. Could this really be a cause for Cruise Control failure?

I just installed new Yoko Avid 225 x 55 x 16 on the rear axle. The fronts have goodyear eagle 225 x 40 x 16.

I can't believe this could be a possible cause. H E L P !!!!
