Whew, I was asleep here when you posted that you could not pry up the cover, good thing you did not try to cut the rivet

Mercedes wiper linkage rarely give any trouble, usually the soft alloy wiper arm
cracks due to fatigue OR the base cone fitting gets wiped out.
