Make sure to remove the air filter housing so as to give you better access to the idle valve. Make sure the clamp is completely loose around the valve, and gently move the valve side to side to slip it from the hoses on the side. Make sure to support the rear of the valve so as not to torque the hose fitting in the top of the plenum boot. You can simply twist the valve back and forth and slowly extract it from the hoses.

Try a little silicone spray on the hoses to give you a little slippery advantage upon installation.
