Well, my saga is finally over.
Last Friday I had the car towed from the dealer to the indie. He couldn't get to it until Moday, when he pulled the tranny. He told me he couldn't get to the piston from the outside so sent it to his tranny guy. Anyhow, he called me today and the tranny guy says B2 piston needs to be replaced(everything else is OK), so he's ordered a new one from MB. The mechanic also discoverred that the driveshaft coupling is worn out, so he's going to put in a new one(says the car should be much smoother now
) Total bill; $850.00 CDN. Not bad for 9hrs labour plus parts.
It's definitely a hell of a lot better than the dealer recommendation, of tranny rebuild + new torque converter for 5200.00
